Happy 1st Birthday Tucker!!!

Our little boy is 1 year old!! It is so hard to believe that a whole year has passed. It really does fly by before you know what has happened. This has been such a wonderful year - we are so blessed to have our Monster. We had fun preparing and celebrating, and YES, he was spoiled having three birthday parties. But you only turn one once, so we figured that he might as well live it up!! His first party was at school with all his friends. I sent cupcakes for the class and Ms. Trena and Ms. Becca had a party for Tucker. After the singing, cupcakes and cleanup, he took his birthday walk around to all the classes, he had his birthday crown and everything.

Of course, Mama and Daddy had to have our own mini-party at home with just the three of us on Thursday, August 14th, his actual birthday. By the end of the night, he ended up having about three cupcakes total. 2 at school and 1 at home that night, so yes our little fella has a bit of a sweet tooth!!! After he demolished his cupcake, he got his birthday present from Mama and Daddy . . . his very own wagon. You can see that he was very helpful to Daddy, putting it together.
"Daddy, I think that this is the piece you are looking for. . . ""Are you ready for these things yet?"
Tucker really likes his wagon. We made laps around the house and he did not want to get out. He even likes to push it around when he is not riding inside.
THE Birthday party night - Tucker's big party was on Friday evening. Of course, he did not take his afternoon nap that day, so he got a little cranky toward the end of the night. We captured once of his little fits, just for laughs and memories!! At first, he was not real sure about what he wanted to do with the blue thing that had a candle on it, but as you can see, he quickly figured out that the blue stuff was yummy and he dug in. He had icing everywhere. I was not thinking that his birthday shirt would come clean, but somehow it did!!

We had fun celebrating Tucker's first year and look forward to experiencing many more. Tucker, we love you so much!! Happy 1st Birthday!!

Just some updates on what Tucker is up to. Not walking yet, but we are so okay with this. He is already into everything and as fast as lightning, so he is a handful to keep up with just crawling!! As I mentioned, he is in to everything!!! We finally had to purchase a new trashcan with a lid because he was standing up next to our old one (that had no lid) and pulling the trash out. I even found him about to eat a piece of bread crust that came out of the trash, so that was my cue that we needed one with a lid!! He loves, loves to hear the sound of his voice. We have found him squealing, hollering and just making as many noises as loud as he can lately. We are trying to work on his "quiet voice" but you know how that goes with a 1-year old!!! He still is hanging with just the four teeth, two on bottom and two on top. He started a new daycare this year when I went back to work, The Learning Treehouse - he has adjusted so great and just loves his teachers. They are doing a lot of educational things with his class; they sing, work on labeling objects and even use some sign language. He is really learning a lot. As far as eating . . . He no longer drinks from a bottle - sippie cups only. Transitioning from his bottle to a sippie cup was so easy, but I am afraid that the pacifier will be much harder. He is still very much attached to his pappy and likes to have it at naptime, bedtime and some in between - we'll work on that habit later!! He is eating more and more table food, but still eats his jar of baby food too. Starting him on table food has been a bit of a struggle, but we are working on it. I think that he is going to be a starch baby. He loves crackers, cereal, bread, breakfast bars, and anything in that family. As I mentioned, we are working to introduce new foods to him all the time, but he has a bit of a stubborn side about eating!!! Sometimes, he will not even taste the food in his mouth, he just automatically sticks his tongue out and spits the food out. He is funny!! As usual, Tucker is such a loving baby - he loves to snuggle and cuddle and give sweet, sweet sugars. He is fun and we love him!! Next week we go to see Dr. Hobby for his 12 month checkup and shots - yikes :( I am not looking forward to that visit, but I will update his 12 month stats after the visit.
