Spring Break Weekend Trip to Lake Sinclair
Our first vacation!! All packed up and ready to head to the lake. Mommy and Daddy = 2 bags, cooler and fishing poles. Tucker = 4 bags, jumperoo, travel high chair, toys, etc., etc., etc. Traveling with a baby takes a lot of room. This was only a three day trip and the Tahoe is full!!
We made it!! We're here!! Yeah!!

Tucker's first visit down to the dock.
Silly boys, trying to fish. Daddy must be a pro fisherman . . . he fishing with two poles at one time!!
The BIG catch!!

The End of our first wonderful family vacation!
Trying to get some sun on the dock, but the weather was not cooperating.
Going after an acorn - such a curious little monster!!
Unfortunately during our vacation, bad weather hit. Rain, wind, hail and the threat of a tornado had us all a little panicked, especially Nicky. He wanted to make sure that we were well prepared if a tornado was spotted. When the hail started, we threw the pillows in the hall just in case. . . luckily the tornadoes missed us and all we had was the wind, rain and a little hail. But we were ready with our tornado bunker!!
Daddy feeling much better (and calmer) after the storm has passed.
We love going to the lake, it is so beautiful and peaceful.
Me and Daddy watching Mommy pack the truck.
The truck's packed, ready to head home and the sunshine decides to finally come out!! Oh well, there is always next time!!
I'm gonna get you with my stick.

Tucker's Baptism - February 24, 2008
Tucker was baptized on Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Springfield United Methodist Church by Brother Ben Martin. It was such special day and everything turned out wonderful. We are so lucky that God gave us this precious gift and this day was a time for us to pledge to raise our son as God would want in a christian home as christian parents.
Tucker is getting ready for his big moment.
Tucker was eyeing the bowl of water in the baptismal font . . . I think he was wanting to splash and play.
There was no crying or fussing during the entire baptism, he was just as happy as he could be. He watched Brother Ben talk and was fascinated with everything he was saying. It is like he understood every word. One time he got so excited that I thought he was going to start jabbering right along with the preacher. He was getting a little antsy in this picture . . . I think he didn't like laying back, he wanted to sit up so he could see everybody and what was going on. He's such a nosey little fella!!
This picture is so sweet, it is like he is saying, "okay, okay - everything is over and I've got my daddy, life is good"
This next picture was taken by Holden during the service. He's quite the photographer for seven years old!! Out of all the "quiet church toys" I had, Tucker decided that the necklace I was wearing was the most attractive thing to occupy his time. He is so strong, he was practically ripping it off my neck and pulling it into his mouth!!
Our family - Abby, Nicky and Tucker Smith.

The baptismal banner is a tradition that I brought from the church that I grew up at, Bethel Lutheran. It was tradition that a baptismal banner was handmade for every baby that was baptized. For years, my Grandma Beulah was the one who handmade the banners for all the babies and I wanted Tucker to have one of his own. So on Saturday afternoon (of course I waited until the last minute) my sister, Becky and I made Tucker a baptismal banner. It was really neat carrying on a tradition that my Grandma Beulah was a part of for so many years.

Tucker is very lucky to have such a large and loving family. We were so happy that they were a part of this special day.

6 Months Old
Tucker has grown and changed so much in his six months. I was looking back at his photographs and found some pictures over the months that really show how much he has grown.
4 Days Old . . .
2 Months Old . . .
WHEEEE , 6 Months Old . .
Six Month Stats: February 14, 2008
weight: 19 lbs. 1 oz.
length: 27 1/2 inches
head circumference: 46 cm At six months old, Tucker started eating solids. The first few attempts did not go so well - he spit out the green peas and gaged, but then again it was green peas . . .GROSS!! However he loves green beans and all the other vegetables. These are some fun pictures of one of his first attempts at eating green beans. At least he's smiling!!
Tucker and cousin Hayden playing and posing.
What a cool dude!!
