October Update

Tucker is 14 months old and such a big boy!! Looking back at all his baby pictures, it is amazing just how much (and fast) he has grown. It is almost hard to remember him going from my little tiny baby to this!! He is so much fun. I know I have said that time and time again, but he really is. Nicky and I absolutely love playing with him and hanging out. We fully admit that we spoil him rotten, but that is what he is for!!! So, now that he is 14 months old he is taking some steps. Not fully walking, but he will take steps from me to Nicky, Nicky to me, etc, etc. His face is hilarious as he holds his little arms in just the right position and waddles to us. He is so proud and excited. I think he sees how excited we get and that just keeps him going!! He also jabbers all the time, no formal words yet, but he is constantly jabbering away. We went to Octoberfest on River Street. We got Chase and Tucker to pose for a picture after we went into the candy store!! They were so cute and matching, and we didn't even plan it.
Yes, I had to put this picture in. I cannot believe it, but this is Tucker pushing Daddy away!! He has definitely gotten a little attitude here lately. If he does not want your hand on his toy or stroller or whatever, he will take your hand and push it away. He is so funny when he does it, I can't help but laugh.
Tucker loves my shoes, Nicky's shoes, all shoes. As I was getting ready one morning, I look over and he has gotten all the way into my closet and going through all my shoes. When I asked what he was doing, this is what I got. . . too funny!!
Playing with Hannah . . .
Tucker got so many toys for his birthday, we decided not to open them all at one time. About two weeks ago, we opened this horse and he had a blast. He loves to ride and bounce up and down on his horse. He will just laugh and laugh and cackle!! He little face shows it all in this picture.
Silly boy, this is Tucker at breakfast after stuffing as much waffle in his mouth as possible. He is going to be a champ at the "chubby bunny" game.

Happy 1st Birthday Tucker!!!

Our little boy is 1 year old!! It is so hard to believe that a whole year has passed. It really does fly by before you know what has happened. This has been such a wonderful year - we are so blessed to have our Monster. We had fun preparing and celebrating, and YES, he was spoiled having three birthday parties. But you only turn one once, so we figured that he might as well live it up!! His first party was at school with all his friends. I sent cupcakes for the class and Ms. Trena and Ms. Becca had a party for Tucker. After the singing, cupcakes and cleanup, he took his birthday walk around to all the classes, he had his birthday crown and everything.

Of course, Mama and Daddy had to have our own mini-party at home with just the three of us on Thursday, August 14th, his actual birthday. By the end of the night, he ended up having about three cupcakes total. 2 at school and 1 at home that night, so yes our little fella has a bit of a sweet tooth!!! After he demolished his cupcake, he got his birthday present from Mama and Daddy . . . his very own wagon. You can see that he was very helpful to Daddy, putting it together.
"Daddy, I think that this is the piece you are looking for. . . ""Are you ready for these things yet?"
Tucker really likes his wagon. We made laps around the house and he did not want to get out. He even likes to push it around when he is not riding inside.
THE Birthday party night - Tucker's big party was on Friday evening. Of course, he did not take his afternoon nap that day, so he got a little cranky toward the end of the night. We captured once of his little fits, just for laughs and memories!! At first, he was not real sure about what he wanted to do with the blue thing that had a candle on it, but as you can see, he quickly figured out that the blue stuff was yummy and he dug in. He had icing everywhere. I was not thinking that his birthday shirt would come clean, but somehow it did!!
Tucker, Mama and Daddy opening the presents.

We had fun celebrating Tucker's first year and look forward to experiencing many more. Tucker, we love you so much!! Happy 1st Birthday!!

Just some updates on what Tucker is up to. Not walking yet, but we are so okay with this. He is already into everything and as fast as lightning, so he is a handful to keep up with just crawling!! As I mentioned, he is in to everything!!! We finally had to purchase a new trashcan with a lid because he was standing up next to our old one (that had no lid) and pulling the trash out. I even found him about to eat a piece of bread crust that came out of the trash, so that was my cue that we needed one with a lid!! He loves, loves to hear the sound of his voice. We have found him squealing, hollering and just making as many noises as loud as he can lately. We are trying to work on his "quiet voice" but you know how that goes with a 1-year old!!! He still is hanging with just the four teeth, two on bottom and two on top. He started a new daycare this year when I went back to work, The Learning Treehouse - he has adjusted so great and just loves his teachers. They are doing a lot of educational things with his class; they sing, work on labeling objects and even use some sign language. He is really learning a lot. As far as eating . . . He no longer drinks from a bottle - sippie cups only. Transitioning from his bottle to a sippie cup was so easy, but I am afraid that the pacifier will be much harder. He is still very much attached to his pappy and likes to have it at naptime, bedtime and some in between - we'll work on that habit later!! He is eating more and more table food, but still eats his jar of baby food too. Starting him on table food has been a bit of a struggle, but we are working on it. I think that he is going to be a starch baby. He loves crackers, cereal, bread, breakfast bars, and anything in that family. As I mentioned, we are working to introduce new foods to him all the time, but he has a bit of a stubborn side about eating!!! Sometimes, he will not even taste the food in his mouth, he just automatically sticks his tongue out and spits the food out. He is funny!! As usual, Tucker is such a loving baby - he loves to snuggle and cuddle and give sweet, sweet sugars. He is fun and we love him!! Next week we go to see Dr. Hobby for his 12 month checkup and shots - yikes :( I am not looking forward to that visit, but I will update his 12 month stats after the visit.

Water Bug

Tucker has always loved his bath, but the first time that Nicky dipped his toes into the river he did not like it, but we just thought it was because the water was very cold, so we tried again at Grandma and Granddaddy's swimming pool, same reaction . . . he did not like it . . . until Mama and Daddy got in the pool with him!! Once we were all in the pool together, he loved the water. He was splashing and laughing and even dipping his face in the water. He was so funny, he would get water in his nose and eyes and make the funniest face then laugh and laugh. He was hilarious!! He has definitely become a waterbug. He loves the water, especially splashing!!

4th of July Fireworks

For Tucker's first 4th of July fireworks, we went out to the Effingham County Fireworks Show at ECHS. The loud booms did not phase Tucker - he fell asleep during the show.

Summer Catch Up!!

Yes, we have reached the stage where Tucker is getting into everything!! He is so fun to watch ~ he has this very cute way of cutting his eyes and giving a sly grin as he continues to do what you just told him not to do. This is the look, who me, not me, I'm not doing anything!! He really has it down - he's good!! Tucker loves his Hannah. He thinks she is the most hilarious person in the world. She can always get him to laugh and giggle. He loves having Hannah come over and play.
I just had to throw this picture in. He looks like such a grown up little boy. He was sacked out on the couch for his afternoon nap.
Hair is definitely an issue!! This is an "I just woke up" picture and you can tell that he slept good ~ what a case of bedhead!! I think he is so cute and sweet, especially first thing in the morning when he wakes up.

Tucker's First Haircut

Tucker had his first haircut on June 5, 2008. He did a great job and did not fuss at all. He liked looking at the colorful bears on his cape and trying to see what Daddy was doing behind him. That little fella had a lot of hair!!
This haircut makes him look like such a big boy.
Of course he had to check himself out in the mirror when she was all done. He agrees. . . handsome!!
