Mommy and Tucker celebrating Hannah's 11th birthday at Longhorn's.
"Daddy and Tucker" time was priceless to Nicky the days prior to his surgery because Nicky was not going to be able to pick him up or hold him for several days following the surgery. I think that was the hardest part for Nicky when making the decision to have surgery.
Tucker spent his first night away from us while Nicky was in the hospital. It was tough night leaving our little boy for the first time. He did fine, it was Mommy who had the hard time!! We were all glad to be home and together after Nicky was released from the hospital. Tucker did miss his Daddy probably about as much as Daddy missed him. The day that Nicky came home from the hospital, all Tucker would do is smile and look at his Daddy. They were laying on the bed together and Tucker kept inching closer and closer until he was snuggled right up to Nicky - it was so sweet, but of course I did not have my camera close. Tucker (it was really my idea, but I'll give Tucker the credit!!) wanted to make Daddy feel better so he gave him a little present . . Guitar Hero . . . to help pass the time while he was at home.
After Daddy's surgery, he can no longer eat large portions so he has passed his spoon down to Tucker. Seems to fit perfectly right into Tucker mouth.
Look at this baby . . . holding his own bottle!! That lasted for about 30 seconds, barely long enough for Daddy to get a picture!!
Life is fabulous, even with the surgeries and illnesses we couldn't be happier. Nicky and I love our little boy so much and enjoy spending all of our time with him. He is truly the joy of our life. Becoming a parent changes your life in the most wonderful way and we are so happy to have this little blessing to love, nuture and have fun with.

Catching Up
Several weeks and tons of great moments with Tucker have slipped by without us updating, so I will try to briefly capture the past several weeks. We have had a lot going on in our family . . . Tucker has been sick twice in the last two weeks, Nicky had surgery to correct his severe acid reflux and I have started back with my graduate courses. So needless to say this month has blown past like a whirlwind. I am happy to say that both Tucker and Nicky are on the mend, but everyone know how hard it is to have sick boys in the house!! The first time that Tucker was sick this month, he had to have breathing treatments, which was an adventure with a 5 1/2 month old!! For me, he cried, squirmed and did everything he could to not have the mask near his face, however with DADDY he was a perfect angel!! Just goes to show that he is truly a daddy's boy. He has been sick again this past week, but the breathing treatments just were not helping. So after two trips to the doctor, chest x-rays and an antibiotic, I think that he is beginning to feel a little better. It has been an exhausting week watching our little boy feel so terrible and not being able to fix it for him.
Tucker is growing like a weed . . . already up to 19 pounds and not even 6 months old yet!! We are having so much fun with him, he is constantly entertaining us with his belly cackle, sweet smiles and attempts at stuffing everything he can find into his mouth. Even when he has been sick he can still find the energy to give us a smile and laugh. It is so funny to watch him concentrate so hard on his toys and try to figure out how he can fit the entire thing into his mouth.
